Take the Artists' Open Studios Tour

November 23, 24, 25 and December 1 and 2, 2012 from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Artists' Open Studio tour is a free, self-guided art adventure. Whether you are an avid collector, just curious about fine art, or an emerging artist, this is an incredible opportunity for you to meet Northeastern Connecticut's painters, sculptors, fiber artists, photographers, potters, jewelers, glass artists, metal smiths, wood-turners, and other fine artists.

You have your choice of over 70 artists who work in a wide variety of mediums and styles, and live in an even wider variety of studio environments: From busy downtown lofts, to country barns with lazy rivers rolling by, to in-home cozy studio spaces where life and work share their energy.

While many of us experience fine art by visiting art galleries and museums, we rarely have the chance to meet the artists whose work we admire, and be welcomed into the spaces where they nourish their creativity and produce their art. And, it gives artists the the opportunity to connect with you and to share their passion and expertise – a sure cure for some of the isolation artists often feel while they work away in their studios day after day.

So - pack a few bottles of water, bring your brochure and a note pad to take down some inspirations, and make yourself comfy for a trip across the Northeast Corner.

Some Helpful Information For Your Tour:

Our brochure will be printed and ready for distribution in August It will contain a complete listing of artists and directions to their studios, a map of the entire tour area (not to scale), and sample images of work for each artist. If you do not receive one in the mail please pick one up in a local establishment, or add your name to the mailing list and we will send one to you. You can also download the pdf of our brochure on this web site (see sidebar).

This web site will also provide you with oodles of information about the artists, a map with all their locations, and a GOOGLE MAP for directions. The artists will be glad to assist you in getting from one studio to another during the tour.
